MulMulBaby Product Care & Longevity Guide: Extend the Life of Your Organic Baby Clothes

At MulMulBaby, we craft our organic baby clothes from the finest muslin and organic cotton, designed for ultimate softness, breathability, and durability. Proper care is essential to maintain these qualities, ensuring your garments remain gentle on your baby's delicate skin and last longer, reducing environmental impact. This guide provides comprehensive instructions for washing, drying, and storing your MulMulBaby products.

General Care Principles for Organic Fabrics

Organic cotton and muslin are natural fibers that benefit from gentle care. Avoiding harsh chemicals and excessive heat will preserve their integrity, softness, and vibrant colors.

Read the Label: Always check the care label on each MulMulBaby garment for specific instructions, as blends or unique designs may have particular requirements.

Pre-Wash New Items: We recommend washing all new baby clothes before their first use to remove any residual dust from manufacturing and to enhance softness.

Separate Colors: Wash light and dark colors separately to prevent color transfer.

Washing Instructions

For Organic Cotton Garments (Onesies, Sweatshirts, Pants)

1        Water Temperature: Use cold water (up to 30°C/86°F) for washing. Hot water can cause shrinkage, fading, and can be harsh on organic fibers.

2        Cycle: Select a gentle or delicate cycle on your washing machine to minimize stress on the fabric.

3        Detergent: Use a mild, pH-neutral, eco-friendly detergent that is free from harsh chemicals, dyes, fragrances, and optical brighteners. These additives can irritate sensitive baby skin and degrade organic cotton [2].

4        Avoid Bleach & Fabric Softeners: Bleach can damage organic fibers and strip colors. Fabric softeners can leave a residue that reduces the natural absorbency and breathability of the fabric.

5        Turn Inside Out: Turn garments inside out to protect prints and the outer surface of the fabric.

For Muslin Essentials (Swaddles, Burp Cloths, Blankets)

6        Water Temperature: Wash in cold water (up to 30°C/86°F).

7        Cycle: Use a gentle or delicate cycle.

8        Detergent: A mild, pH-neutral detergent is best.

9        Avoid Bleach & Fabric Softeners: As with organic cotton, avoid these to maintain the natural qualities of muslin.

10    Separate from Zippers/Velcro: Wash muslin items separately or in a mesh laundry bag to prevent snagging on zippers, buttons, or Velcro from other garments, which can damage its loose weave.

Drying Instructions

For All MulMulBaby Organic Products

11    Tumble Dry Low: For best results, tumble dry on a low heat setting. High heat can cause significant shrinkage and damage to natural fibers.

12    Air Dry (Recommended): Whenever possible, air dry by laying flat or hanging to dry. This is the gentlest method, helps prevent shrinkage, saves energy, and extends the life of your garments while maintaining their softness.

13    Remove Promptly: Remove items from the dryer as soon as the cycle is complete to minimize wrinkles and prevent stiffness.

Storage Tips

Clean & Dry: Ensure all garments are completely clean and dry before storing to prevent mildew or odors.

Fold Neatly: Fold clothes neatly to maintain their shape and reduce wrinkles.

Avoid Direct Sunlight: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.

By following this MulMulBaby Product Care & Longevity Guide, you can ensure your organic baby clothes remain a cherished part of your little one's wardrobe, providing comfort and gentleness day after day.
